Angel from Montgomery Ukulele Chords

From Wikipedia: John Prine wrote “Angel from Montgomery” after a friend suggested writing “another song about old people,” referring to Prine’s song “Hello in There.” Although Prine had “said everything I wanted to [about seniors] in ‘Hello in There'” he was intrigued by the idea of “a song about a middle-aged woman who feels older than she is…[Eventually] I had this really vivid picture of this woman standing over the dishwater with soap in her hands…She wanted to get out of her house and her marriage and everything. She just wanted an angel to come to take her away from all this.” Prine believes he likely was drawn to Montgomery as the song’s setting by virtue of being a fan of Hank Williams, who had ties to that city.[2] “Angel from Montgomery” is a concert staple of Hank Williams’ granddaughter Holly Williams. Here is the Angel from Montgomery ukulele tab that I made, I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

I really like listening to the Bonnie Raitt version, and that’s what this chord chart is based on.

Chords

This song is super simple, and it just has F , C, and G. This makes it a great song for beginners. As any musician knows, practice is essential for mastering any instrument. While some instruments are more difficult to learn than others, even the simplest of instruments require a certain amount of practice to sound good. For example, the ukulele is a relatively easy instrument to learn, but it still takes practice to play it well. One of the most important things for beginner ukulele players to learn is how to correctly form chords. The three most basic chords are F, C and G, and once you know how to correctly form these chords, you can begin to practice playing them. Although it may seem tedious at first, with a little practice you will be able to play these chords with ease. And once you have mastered the basics, you can move onto more challenging songs.
